Someone’s Window è un progetto sul rispetto.
Tutto nasce dal desiderio dell’artista di osservare dal punto di vista del padrone della stanza e condividerlo con lo spettatore. I soggetti scelti da Heewon provengono da contesti diversi, ma sono tutti persone degne di rispetto. Le sue opere mostrano le viste dalle finestre delle stanze in cui questi individui hanno trascorso più tempo. Questi panorami particolari creano un’atmosfera, un ambiente in cui lo spettatore può percepire i loro stessi desideri.
Someone’s Window is a project about respect.
It all started from the artist’s humble wish to look through the perspective of the master of the room and share it with the viewer. The subjects whose perspective Heewon chooses to capture come from various backgrounds; but they are all respectable people in their own right. His works display the views from the windows of the rooms in which these people spent most of their time in. These particular views create a mood, an atmosphere, an environment where viewers can experience the same desires of these individuals.

Heewon Kim (n. 1982, Corea) è un artista multidisciplinare specializzato in fotografia, video e installazioni. Noto per fondere questi media in opere poetiche e sperimentali, il suo lavoro esplora le emozioni attraverso effetti naturali come luce e ombra in relazione a tempo e materia. Ispirata all’architettura europea, la sua serie Chandelier & Candlestick fa parte della collezione del National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea. Dopo gli studi alla Domus Academy e il lavoro con Alessandro Mendini, è stato scoperto da Rossana Orlandi. Ha esposto alla Biennale di Venezia, PAD Paris/London, Art Basel Miami e altri eventi.
Heewon Kim (b. 1982, Korea) is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in photography, videography, and installations. His work blends these mediums into poetic and experimental pieces, exploring emotions through light, shadow, time, and matter. Inspired by European architecture, his Chandelier & Candlestick series is in the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea. After studying at Domus Academy and working with Alessandro Mendini, he was discovered by Rossana Orlandi. He has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, PAD Paris/London, Art Basel Miami, and more.
